1100 -- Knives and forks were brought back from the Crusades (who says Saladin's lot were barbarians?)

1120 -- The Chinese inventeed playing cards.

1130 -- Court of the Exchequer formed. A huge checked tablecloth was laid out, and coins were placed in the squares to help the court count incoming revenue.

1140 -- Spices and pepper were used in Britain for the first time.

1180 -- Glass windows were used in stead of brick ones! I bet that improved the view.

Stay tuned for more Tudor Tidbits, which is released on an irregular basis.
